Bar Mitzvah like Bat Mitzvah denotes the coming of age of boys. This is a Jewish ritual that has social significance that the Jewish boy is accountable for all his deeds. A boy who attains the age of 13 is considered to be a grownup and according to Jewish religious law he can participate in all religious activities and can also lead them.
